Dhaka, March 14 -- West Bengal Police on Saturday arrested a Bangladeshi citizen in Nadia, according to the Deputy High Commission of Bangladesh in Kolkata.

In a statement, the commission said the Kolkata Police informed the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission that a Bangladeshi national has been arrested from Nadia, West Bengal.

The arrestee has been identified as Philip Sangma, 30.

The Bangladesh Deputy High Commission has already requested the Kolkata Police to provide further details about the arrestee and has also sought consular access through the Government of India.
