Dhaka, July 9 -- Bangladesh on Thursday requested Algeria to enhance collaboration in the field of energy to ensure country's long-term energy security.

The two countries discussed avenues to strengthen cooperation in the domains of trade, investment, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, fisheries and aquaculture, shipbuilding and manpower.

Ambassador of Algeria to Bangladesh Abdelouahab Saidani met State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and discussed ways of cooperation.
