Dhaka, Oct. 17 -- Bangladesh has reaffirmed its unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian people and their inalienable right to self-determination, calling for urgent international action to end Israeli occupation, illegal settlement expansion and human rights violations.

Addressing the UN Security Council's Open Debate on 'The Situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian Question' on Friday, Bangladesh's Permanent Representative to the UN Ambassador Irene Khan strongly condemned the devastation in Gaza and expressed grave concern over escalating land confiscation, violence and illegal settlements in the West Bank and Jerusalem.
