Dhaka, Sept. 16 -- Recalling the vision of late President Ziaur Rahman, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humaiun Kobir on Wednesday requested Bhutan's support for the revitalisation of SAARC for the collective benefit of the region and peoples.

He expressed Bangladesh's keen interest to contribute to the development of Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC) of Bhutan, particularly by providing professionals, skilled and semi-skilled human resources.

The issues were discussed when Ambassador of Bhutan to Bangladesh Karma Hamu Dorjee called on the State Minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) was established with the signing of the SAARC Charter in Dhaka on 8 December 1985.
