Dhaka, June 21 -- Bangladesh has launched its first 'cashless prison management system at Munshiganj District Jail as part of ongoing efforts to modernize prison administration, officials said.

The system uses Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), a wireless technology that employs electromagnetic fields to automatically identify and track tags attached to objects, animals, or people. Considered a digital, non-line-of-sight alternative to traditional barcodes, RFID enables remote scanning and monitoring of data.
