Chuadanga, Aug. 19 -- Bangladesh's Power Division on Wednesday inaugurated the country's first scientifically designed, grid-connected agrivoltaics pilot project in Chuadanga, aiming to promote renewable energy while protecting agricultural land.

The 49.6-kilowatt-peak (kWp) pilot project combines solar power generation with crop cultivation on the same land, said a press release issued on Wednesday.

It is being implemented under the Green Energy Transition - Policy Advisory Partnership (GET-PAP) project, co-funded by the European Union (EU) and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by GIZ Bangladesh in partnership with the Power Division.
