Bangladesh calls for stronger support for LDCs ahead of Doha Midterm Review
Dhaka, June 25 -- Bangladesh has called for stronger international support for the Least Developed Countries (LDCs) and the graduating LDCs by fulfilling commitments for Official Development Assistance (ODA) and expanding concessional financing.
Speaking at the General Assembly-ECOSOC Joint Thematic Event on the Midterm Review of the Doha Programme of Action (DPoA) took place at UN Headquarters in New York, Bangladesh's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Ambassador Salahuddin Noman Chowdhury underscored the need for protecting the hard-earned development gains of the LDCs in the face of climate shocks, debt distress and ongoing energy crisis.
