Bangladesh, Canada discuss cooperation to curb fraud, irregular migration
Dhaka, Aug. 12 -- Bangladesh and Canada on Wednesday discussed shared priorities including strengthening cooperation to prevent fraud and irregular migration to enable legitimate migration as well as finding a durable solution to the Rohingya crisis.
Canadian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Ajit Singh met Foreign Minister Dr Khalilur Rahman and discussed ways to strengthen the longstanding partnership.

The meeting focused on building on more than five decades of Bangladesh-Canada friendship by advancing mutual prosperity that has included over $6.3 billion in development assistance from Canada including over $600 million for the Rohingya crisis since 2017.
