, Aug. 20 -- Bangabhaban on Thursday bade a grand farewell to Acting President Hafiz Uddin Ahmad Bir Bikram through a state ceremony.

A smartly turned-out contingent of President Guard Regiment (PGR) of the army extended him a guard of honour while a band group comprising military, navy, and air force played the farewell tune at 11.30 am.

Another group of the horse-mounted troops of Bangladesh Police escorted him forward as part of the farewell ceremony.

The acting president signed the Bangbhaban visitors' book and exchanged greetings with Bangabhaban officials and employees.
