Khagrachhari, April 7 -- A festive atmosphere has spread across the hills as Khagrachhari welcomes 'Baisabi', one of the major festivals of the Chittagong Hill Tracts, with a vibrant blend of colours, music and tradition.

The three-day programme began on Tuesday morning with a colourful procession organised by the Khagrachhari Hill District Council.

Council Chairman Shefalika Tripura formally inaugurated the festival by releasing doves and colourful balloons as symbols of peace on the council premises.

Senior government officials, members of law enforcement agencies, and representatives from various public and private organisations attended the event.
