, Sept. 7 -- to-point inflation fell slightly to 8.26 percent in August 2026, down from 8.32 percent in July, mainly on the back of a decline in food inflation, according to data released by the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS).

Food inflation dropped to 7.02 percent in August from 7.16 percent in July, while non-food inflation edged up slightly to 9.32 percent from 9.28 percent over the same period.

August's general inflation was also markedly lower than the 9.42 percent recorded in May, pointing to a sustained moderation in overall price pressure over recent months.
