, Aug. 10 -- An assistant judge was killed in a road accident at Lahirikanda on Jamalpur-Mymensingh road in Jamalpur Sadar upazila early Monday.

The deceased was AKM Samiul Haque, 27, an assistant judge at the Jamalpur District and Sessions Judge's Court and son of AKM Fazlul Haque of Satpai Chitpara village in Netrokona Sadar upazila.

Police said when Samiul Haque was returning to his workplace in Jamalpur from his father's house in Lalmatia, Dhaka on a car.

The private car carrying Samiul Haque crashed into a stationary truck loaded with rods, leaving him and the driver injured.
