, April 13 -- French Ambassador to Bangladesh Jean-Marc Sere-Charlet on Monday said they are deeply saddened by the passing of Asha Bhosle, an extraordinary artist whose voice transcended generations and borders.

"Her legacy will live on for generations, he said.

The envoy said Asha Bhosle also touched French audiences, notably through her celebrated 2014 performance at the Theatre du Chatelet.

"On behalf of France in Bangladesh, I extend my heartfelt condolences to her family, loved ones, and admirers around the world," said the Ambassador in a message.
