Army takes Brig Gen Miftah Uddin into custody over Ekramul murder case at ICT
Dhaka, July 28 -- The Bangladesh Army has taken Brigadier General Miftah Uddin Ahmed into military custody in connection with a crimes against humanity case over the 2018 killing of former Teknaf municipality Ward councillor Ekramul Haque.
Confirming the development, an official of the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), speaking on condition of anonymity, told UNB that Brig Gen Miftah Uddin Ahmed, a serving senior officer of the Bangladesh Army, has been taken into military custody on Monday.
"The next course of action against him is being taken in accordance with the law," the ISPR official said.
