Barishal, Sept. 11 -- Police recovered the body of another newborn wrapped in a polythene bag from beneath a bridge in Barishal city on Thursday night.

Al Mamun Ul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Kotwali Model Police Station, said they recovered the body from under the C&B Bridge after receiving a call through the National Emergency Service 999.

He said the body was found discarded along with various clinical items, prompting police to investigate whether it was previously used for research or educational purposes.

The OC said police requested a post-mortem examination to determine whether any chemical substances were present in the body.
