Andaleeve's oral slip leads to laughter in the House
Sangsad Bhaban, June 27 -- Proceedings in the Parliament on Saturday took a humorous turn when a slip of tongue by Bangladesh Jatiya Party (BJP) MP Andaleeve Rahman prompted laughter across the House.
While taking part in the budget discussion, Andaleeve sought to raise what he described as a "very important" issue concerning development of Bhola.
"Honourable Speaker, let me say something about my constituency. It is very important... I want to speak about Bhola. Honourable Speaker, if Hafiz Saheb were here, he could relate to it," he said.
The Deputy Speaker, who was in the chair at the time, then interrupted with a smile, asking, "Sorry! Who is Hafiz Saheb?"
Realising his mistake, Andaleeve immediately corrected himself.
