Dhaka, Aug. 20 -- The Embassy of Algeria in Dhaka on Thursday commemorated National Mujahid Day, marking two pivotal milestones in Algeria's liberation struggle: the North Constantine Offensive of 20 August 1955 and the Soummam Congress of 20 August 1956.

Members of the diplomatic community, Bangladeshi officials and friends of Algeria joined the event hosted by the Embassy on behalf of Ambassador of Algeria to Bangladesh Dr Abdelouahab Saidani.

This year's commemoration was held under the official slogan "We Follow in Their Footsteps of Struggle," highlighting the enduring values of unity, sacrifice, loyalty and commitment to national sovereignty.
