Dhaka, Nov. 4 -- Aam Janatar Dal General Secretary Md Tarek Rahman on Tuesday said that garment workers demanding a wage hike would hopefully return home, in view of attempts being made to gain political mileage from their movement.

He said the wage board had been formed already, and a wage hike was imminent.

"Workers will return home. This government is the government of workers. Workers brought this government to power," he wrote.

He pointed out that some vested interests were using workers as a shield to attack police and chanting "liberation will come in December".
