Dhaka, Sept. 12 -- Police recovered the body of an advocate, identified as Anwar Hossain, 30, from a rented room in the capital's Lalbagh area on Saturday.

Police recovered the body from a room on the second floor of a house at 10/2, Fala Mosque Lane in Shahid Nagar-3 of Lalbagh and later sent it to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Lalbagh Division Deputy Commissioner Talebur Rahman said locals had seen Anwar on Thursday.

"Initially, it is suspected that he died either Thursday night or Friday," he said, adding that he was living alone there.

Police were informed on Saturday morning after a foul smell was noticed coming from the room, the DC said.
