9 held as joint forces seize firearm, bullets and drugs in Teknaf Rohingya camp
Dhaka, July 24 -- A joint operation conducted by law enforcement agencies at the Noapara Rohingya camp in Teknaf recovered a firearm, ammunition and drugs and led to the arrest of nine people, officials said on Friday.
The operation was carried out on Thursday by Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), the Armed Police Battalion (APBn), district police, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), Bangladesh Coast Guard, Bangladesh Ansar, the Department of Narcotics Control, the upazila administration and the Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner (RRRC).
During the drive, members of the joint forces recovered a single-barrel gun, 16 rounds of live ammunition and 22 Yaba tablets from one of the detainees.
