Dhaka, Nov. 1 -- A court in Sylhet on Sunday acquitted all 70 accused in a case filed over an alleged bomb attack on former Sylhet mayor and Awami League city unit president Badar Uddin Ahmed Kamran in 2015.

The accused, leaders and activists of the BNP, Jubo Dal, Swechhasebak Dal and Chhatra Dal, were acquitted in the case filed under the Explosives Substances Act.

Judge Prashanta Kumar Biswas of the Sylhet Tribunal for the Prevention of Crimes Affecting Public Security delivered the verdict.

Defence lawyer Advocate Mirza Md Yakut Hossain confirmed the verdict, ending the 11-year legal proceedings.
