Dhaka, Sept. 2 -- Seven police officials, including a former joint commissioner of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Detective Branch (DB), have been dismissed from service on charges of misconduct, unauthorised absence and corruption.

The Ministry of Home Affairs issued separate notifications signed by Senior Secretary Manjur Morshed Chowdhury on Wednesday in this regard.

According to ministry sources, former DB Joint Commissioner Sanchit Kumar Roy has been absent from work since September 17, 2024. He was dismissed on charges of misconduct and absconding under sub-rules 3(b) and 3(c) of the Government Service Rules, 2018.
