, Sept. 3 -- Detectives in a drive arrested five people while they were allegedly preparing to commit a robbery in Banani area of the capital on Thursday.

The arrestees were identified as Md Masud Rana, 29, Md Rajib Hawlader, 30, Hafizul Matbar, 24, Mohammad Shakil Hossain, 24, and Md Badal, 42.

Additional Police Commissioner (DB) Md Shafiqul Islam disclosed the information at a press briefing held at the DMP Media Centre on Thursday.

Tipped off, a team of the DB Gulshan Division conducted a drive in front of Khayer Palace in Banani around 9:30am and arrested the five suspects while they were preparing to commit a robbery.
