Dhaka, Aug. 12 -- Police arrested four alleged activists of the Awami League, which activities are banned, and its affiliated organisations while they were preparing for a procession in the capital's Banani area on Tuesday.

The arrestees are identified as Aslam Mia, 25, Md Ashikul Islam, 24, Md Mahfuzur Rahman Siam, 19, and Md Monir Hossain, 48.

Quoting Banani Thana Police, DMP's ADC (Media) Niaj Mehedi said that the incident took place at around 1:25pm in front of the CM Pump on the Mahakhali-Tejgaon main road, near the gate of the Institute of Public Health under the Banani Police Station area.
