, Nov. 5 -- A total of 33 platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have been deployed in different industrial areas of Dhaka and its surrounding districts to ensure the security of garment factories and maintain law and order.

Of the deployed personnel, three platoons are stationed in Mirpur, 11 in Savar and Ashulia, 12 in Gazipur and seven in Narayanganj.

The activities are being monitored and coordinated round the clock by a monitoring cell at the BGB headquarters, says BGB headquarters public relation officer Shariful Islam on Thursday morning.

Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) and Riot Control Vehicles (RCVs) have also been deployed to strengthen security and tackle any untoward situation.
