Dhaka, Nov. 8 -- A total of 33 platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel were deployed in different industrial areas of Dhaka, Gazipur and Narayanganj on Sunday amid worker unrest.

The deployment aims to ensure security in industrial zones and deal with any untoward situation, BGB Public Relations Officer Shariful Islam said in the morning.

The BGB personnel are performing duties in Savar, Ashulia and Mirpur in Dhaka; Shibu Market, Jalkuri, BSCIC Industrial Estate, Chashara, Kanchpur and Shimrail in Narayanganj; and Chandra, Palli Bidyut, Mouchak, Ambagh, Kashimpur, Naojor, Bhogra Bypass, Gacha and Salna in Gazipur, he said.

They are maintaining vigilance in coordination with the local administration and police.
