, Aug. 28 -- Three children died of measles-like symptoms in Sylhet division in the last 24 hours till Friday morning, taking the total number of deaths from the disease and related symptoms in the division to 151 this year.

During the same period, six new measles cases were confirmed, raising the total number of confirmed cases in the division to 1,031 this year, according to the Office of the Sylhet Divisional Director of Health.

According to the report, two children died while undergoing treatment for measles-like symptoms at Shaheed Shamsuddin Ahmed Hospital. One of them was five months old and the other was 11 months old.

Another nine-month-old child died while undergoing treatment at Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital.
