, June 8 -- Three people were killed and 15 others injured when a bus plunged into a roadside ditch on Dhaka-Sylhet Highway in Sarail upazila of Brahmanbaria district on Monday.

The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.

The accident occurred around 12:30 pm in the Boishamura area when a Brahmanbaria-bound bus of 'Diganta Paribahan' from Madhabpur skidded off and plunged into a roadside ditch as its driver lost control over steering, leaving three people dead on the spot and 15 others injured, said Abu Taher Dewan, officer-in-charge of Khatihata Highway Police.

The injured were taken to different hospitals for treatment.
