Cumilla, Sept. 19 -- Police have detained three people for questioning in connection with the murder of a 13-year-old boy, the only son of KM Firoz Shahriar and Dr Nahida Begum, an associate professor of the Bangla Department at Comilla University.

The detainees have been identified as Tuhin, Anas and Fahim.

Mohammad Rakibul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Cumilla Sadar South Police Station, said the three were detained for questioning as part of the investigation.

"Our operation is ongoing," he said.

Police said Tuhin was detained around 3:30pm on Saturday. CCTV footage showed him with the victim, Yashat Shahriar Oprotim, in an area of the Comilla University campus, where they reportedly stayed for about an hour.
