Chapainawabganj, April 22 -- At least 20 students fell ill after consuming food distributed under the school feeding programme at a primary school in Chapainawabganj municipality on Wednesday.

The incident occurred at Shankarbati Government Primary School around noon, triggering concern among teachers, students and guardians.

According to school sources, bread, bananas and eggs were served to students around 11:00am as part of the regular feeding programme. Shortly after consuming the food, students of classes II, III and IV began showing symptoms of illness.

At least 20 students complained of vomiting, severe abdominal pain, dizziness and eye irritation.
