Cumilla, March 23 -- A case has been filed against two railway staffers in connection with a bus-train collision that left 12 people dead in Cumilla.

Injured bus passenger Shefali Akter lodged the case with Laksam Railway Police Station, naming gateman Helal Uddin and wayman Mehedi Hasan as accused.

Shefali is the aunt of deceased Sohel Rana and a resident of Laksam.

Officer-in-Charge of Laksam railway outpost Jasim Uddin confirmed the matter, and sadi, "The case was filed under section 304(a) of the Penal Code over death caused by negligence. The complainant, Shefali Akter, was also on board the bus at the time of the accident. "

Sohel Rana, an expatriate in Malaysia, had returned home to Chuadanga to celebrate Eid.
