BOGURA, Sept. 24 -- Two people were killed and seven others injured when a microbus collided head-on with a maize-laden truck on the Dhaka-Bogura highway in Shajahanpur upazila of Bogura district early Thursday.

The accident occurred around 4am in the Noymile bus stand area.

The deceased were identified as microbus driver Ferdous Mondal, 25, son of Faruk Mondal of Gopinathpur village, and passenger Zubayedul Islam, 30, son of Haser Ali of Barail village, both under Akkelpur upazila of Joypurhat district.

Aiyub Ali, Sherpur Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC), said a family was returning to Joypurhat's Akkelpur from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka after receiving an expatriate relative.
