Bogura, May 18 -- Two cousins were killed in a clash over land dispute at Laxmipur village in Shibganj upazila of Bogura district on Monday.

The deceased were identified as Yeasin Ali, 33, son of Jamil Uddin and Sumon Molla, 35, son of Mofazzal Hossain Molla of the upazila.

Shahinuzzman, Officer-in-Charge of Shibganj Police Station, said Yeasin and his uncle Rezaul Mandal had been at loggerheads over the ownership of a piece of land.

As a sequel to the enmity, an altercation ensued between the two groups over the issue around 8:30 am.

At one stage, both groups attacked each other, leaving Yeasin dead on the spot and Sumon injured.
