Dhaka, April 22 -- The government has sent 13 senior police officers with the rank of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) and Additional DIG into compulsory retirement.

The Ministry of Home Affairs issued a notification in this regard on Wednesday, saying the action was taken in public interest under Section 45 of the Government Service Act, 2018.

Those who were sent on compulsory retirement are Police Staff College DIG Dr AFM Masum Rabbani, Tourist Police Additional DIG Md Sakhawat Hossain, Rangpur PTC Commandant (DIG, fugitive) Md Ashrafuzzaman, Anti-Terrorism Unit DIGs AZM Nafiul Islam and Md Monirul Islam, and River Police DIG Mohammad Abul Faiz.
