Dhaka, May 20 -- Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Mirpur Division arrested 120 people, including members of teenage gangs, during a special crackdown aimed at ensuring public safety, curbing drugs, extortion and terrorism.

According to Mirpur Division sources, the day-long operation was conducted in different crime-prone areas under the division.

During the drive, police also recovered various types of drugs and locally made weapons from their possession.

Police said all the arrested individuals have been sent to court.

The operation was conducted as part of ongoing efforts by DMP to maintain law and order and strengthen public security in the capital.
