, Oct. 5 -- The government on Monday honoured 102 distinguished teachers from different levels of education in recognition of their contributions to education and nation-building.

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman handed over the awards to the teachers at a discussion organised by the Ministry of Education at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital, marking World Teachers' Day 2026.

Each of the distinguished teachers received Tk 200,000, a crest and a certificate.

The recipients include 10 teachers from the primary level, 20 from the secondary level, 25 from colleges, 20 from general universities, 10 from medical colleges and universities, three from agricultural universities, three from engineering universities and four from other s...
