Sangsad Bhaban, Sept. 6 -- Ten more parliamentary standing committees on different ministries were formed in Parliament on Sunday, while another committee was reconstituted, taking the total number of committees formed so far in the 13th Parliament to 36.

Chief Whip Nurul Islam Moni placed separate proposals for the formation and reconstitution of the committees before the House at the end of Sunday's sitting.

The proposals were subsequently approved by voice votes.

Of the 50 parliamentary committees in the current Parliament, 39 are ministry-related standing committees and 11 are related to Parliament itself.
