India, July 21 -- Northern Telangana is about to see a major boost in its transport infrastructure with the Cabinet's approval for four-laning key stretches of NH-63 and NH-563. These projects, spanning 190.76 km and costing Rs.7,597.16 crore, are designed to ease congestion, improve connectivity, and unlock new opportunities for growth across the region.
Project Highlights
- NH-63 (Armoor-Jagtial-Mancherial): To be developed under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM).
- NH-563 (Jagtial-Karimnagar): To be developed on a Build-Operate-Transfer (Toll) basis.
- Travel time savings: Armoor-Mancherial reduced by ~1.5 hours; Jagtial-Karimnagar shortened by ~45 minutes.
Strengthening Tourism & Pilgrimage
- Improved access to major religious and heritage sites: Vemulawada Temple, Kondagattu Anjaneya Swamy Temple, Dharmapuri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple, Kaleshwaram Temple, Nagunur Fort.
- Faster, safer journeys encourage multi-destination pilgrimage circuits, boosting local hospitality, transport, and artisan businesses.
Supporting Agriculture & Industry
- Better connectivity to fisheries, food processing clusters, SEZs in Siddipet & Warangal, and Mega Food Parks in Nizamabad & Siddipet.
- Farmers gain quicker access to mandis, warehouses, and processing centres.
- Reduced logistics costs and fuel consumption improve efficiency for agribusiness and seafood exports.
