India, Oct. 8 -- Tokyo is a city that rewards getting lost in it. At street level, its neighbourhoods reveal themselves in fragments: a quiet shrine behind a busy road, a river appearing between buildings, a cluster of skyscrapers giving way to low-slung streets. Then, at 350 metres, the perspective changes.
At 634 metres, TOKYO SKYTREE is the world's tallest radio tower and one of Tokyo's defining landmarks. Opened on May 22, 2012, the tower was built primarily for broadcasting as the city's growing number of 200-metre-class skyscrapers raised concerns that radio-wave transmission could be affected. Today, it also offers visitors a chance to see the Japanese capital from above.
