India, July 31 -- Triskaidekaphobia, or the fear of the number 13, applies at 30,000 ft, too. Several global aviation giants, including Emirates, Ryanair, Cathay Pacific, and Singapore Airlines, honour the long-held superstition that the number 13 is unlucky - a move that eases passenger anxiety in the air.
CrewLounge, an aviation software suite, reports that over two decades ago, when Brussels Airlines launched its livery featuring 13 dots forming the letter 'b' on its tail, several customers were hesitant to fly with the airline. Soon after, the airline added another dot, bringing the count to 14.
