India, April 3 -- Repositioning cruises-one-way sailings that move ships between seasonal itineraries-are often marketed toward cost-conscious cruisers. With long itineraries, fewer port fees, and lower-than-expected fares (especially when broken down per day), they can appear to be a steal. That said, these long voyages also come with trade-offs that aren't always obvious at first glance. "Repositioning cruises often include more days at sea, which some guests love, and others don't," says Travel + Leisure A-List advisor and Q Cruise + Travel founder Rob Clabbers.
