India, Aug. 28 -- On August 26, the Bhote Koshi River, flowing down from Tibet in China, burst its banks and sent devastating mudslides and flash floods tearing through Nepal's Rasuwa district. Massive damage has been reported along the Trishuli River, the Bhote Koshi River, and the Timure and Syabrubesi area. Essential services such as transportation, power, water and food supply, telecommunications networks, emergency services, and medical care are disrupted. Several countries, alongside Nepal itself, have now issued travel advisories for anyone currently in the region or planning to visit in the near future.
