India, Sept. 22 -- India has revised the validity rules for children's passports under a notification from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). Under the newly substituted Rule 12(1A), ordinary Indian passports issued to children under 15 will now be valid for five years or until the child turns 18, whichever is earlier.
