India, March 23 -- Hundreds of federal immigration officers will be deployed to airports across the United States as the partial government shutdown drags on and airport security wait times add up.
The Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents will be sent "to airports being adversely impacted" by the partial shutdown, Lauren Bis, the acting assistant secretary for public affairs for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), said in a statement shared with Travel + Leisure.
