India, April 24 -- As I leave the coastal rush behind and delve deep inland from where I live in South Goa, the landscape begins to shift, almost imperceptibly. The air feels dewy, greener somehow. The supple road narrows, bends become more forgiving, and suddenly the majestic sweep of the Sahyadri, part of the Western Ghats, swells in the distance-slightly hazy and misty blue, with gathering green paddy fields around. These ancient hills cradle Rivona.
Driving past Quepem and the Vimleshwar Temple, I wind through coconut groves and quaint hamlets. With each kilometre, Goa becomes quieter, its coastal bustle giving way to contemplative hinterlands
