India, Aug. 10 -- Indian retail traders are planning to stage a boycott on August 12 as a protest against the recently introduced CAS mechanism in the stock market. The boycott is receiving publicity from the day traders who claim that the closing price mechanism will lead to uncertainty for traders, especially those who may hold any position near the closing time.

The protest is not only against the CAS mechanism but also against the discrepancies in normal price and CAS closing price, securities transaction tax (STT), and the constantly changing rules in the market. Although the introduction of CAS is done to help in price discovery and transparency of closing prices, the mechanism requires further clarity.
