India, Sept. 15 -- India's aerospace and defence manufacturing chain has been reorganising itself around a simple idea: the public sector integrators build the platforms, but more and more of the sub-assembly work moves outward to private suppliers. This "insourcing" route lets defence PSUs add capacity without adding factories, and it has become the main entry point for mid-sized tooling and component firms trying to move up from selling jigs to building actual aircraft structures.
