Tata Motors stock in focus after planning up to Rs40,000 Cr investment to boost monthly output to 1 lakh units
India, Oct. 7 -- The Mumbai-based carmaker behind Tata cars and Jaguar Land Rover is planning a major step up in how many vehicles it builds. Management has attached a figure to the goal, linked it to new models and a large spending plan, and tied it to where it sees India's car market heading. The timing is telling, because the latest quarter combined strong demand at home, a stretched supply chain and a softer showing from its British luxury arm.
Shares of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd are trading at Rs. 284.25, down 0.54 percent on Wednesday. The stock touched the intraday high of Rs. 285.60 after opening at Rs. 285.60 before slipping to a low of Rs. 280.80. The company commands a market capitalization of Rs. 1,04,585.6 crore.
