India, Sept. 4 -- Q1 earnings season threw up a fair share of surprises this year, and this one's worth a closer look. Margins jumped sharply, profit more than doubled, and yet volumes fell by a quarter. That mismatch alone tells you something unusual was going on, and there's more to the story once you look past the headline profit number.

With a market capitalization of Rs. 1,05,590.50 crores, the share of SML Mahindra closed at Rs. 5,169 per equity share, down nearly 6.78 percent from its previous day's close price of Rs. 5,545.
