India, Oct. 9 -- India is building solar and wind capacity faster than it is building the roads for electricity to travel on. Renewable power is often generated far from the cities that use it, in sun-baked plains and windy coasts, so it needs dedicated high-voltage lines to get there. That has made power transmission one of the quieter but more important parts of the clean energy story.

Shares of Power Grid Corporation of India Limited. were trading at Rs. 249.80, up 2.11% from previous close of Rs. 244.65. The stock opened at Rs. 246.15 and reached an intraday high of Rs. 249.95 and low of Rs. 246.15. The company currently has a market capitalization of Rs. 2,32,190 crores.
